Macau figures are on the up again
Gaming revenues in Macau showed a 3 percent upturn in November, year-on-year. This is far short of the 49 percent growth enjoyed, year-on-year, between November 2006 and November 2007, but arrests a twomonth decline and is seen by analysts as indicative of continued strong demand for gaming in China.
Hong Kong based analyst Gary Pinge, for instance, stated "The fact that China had to implement five separate visa restrictions in order to slow Macau's gaming revenue growth should highlight to investors the level of pent-up demand for gaming services from mainland China. Our view remains that mainland China is supportive of Macau over the longer term."
