Phil Satre, 59, a former Harrah's Entertainment chairman and chief executive, has been elected to the board of IGT. "To add a director of Phil's calibre, who brings valuable related gaming industry knowledge as well as broad business and board service experience, is a great plus for our company," said Thomas J. Matthews, IGT's chairman and chief executive.

Mr Satre, who retired as Harrah's chairman in 2005, will join IGT's board, subject to regulatory approval.
