Harrah's: new owners and plans
The private equity deal that takes Harrah's Entertainment, Inc into private ownership has been completed, and Harrah's shares no longer trade on the New York Stock exchange.
Global expansion plans continue for Harrah's, however. The company has signed an agreement with the government of the Bahamas to build a 100,000 square foot casino in a 1,000-room Caesars Resort Hotel as part of the Baha Mar resort. And in the UK, the financial press has reported on rumours that Harrah's, owner of London Clubs International, has made an approach to the Gala Coral Group about the possibility of a merger with Gala Casinos.
