Bally Technologies has formed an Innovation Lab that will focus on researching and developing new gaming technologies and features across all the company's product lines.

It will seek out creativity and create prototypes to put in front of players and the company's customers.

The aim is to experiment with futuristic technologies without distracting business units from their day-to-day operations.

Bryan Kelly, Vice President of Technology, is head of the Innovation Lab, which is based in Northern California.

Through the Innovation Lab, Kelly has been given the task of inspiring and synergising development efforts from Bally's entire R&D team, which has tripled in size in less than three years.

"I'm thrilled and honoured to lead Bally's Innovation Lab, which will allow us to capitalise on our R&D talent across the globe and accelerate development and deployment of new technology to our customers," Kelly explained.

In parallel, the company has created the Office of the CTO (Chief Technology Officer) around Robert Luciano, Bally's CTO, who has returned to Bally part-time after a medical leave. It will combine the talents of its in-house senior staff with external technology veterans.

"This powerhouse team of company leadership and outside technology veterans will allow us to drive even more customer-focused innovation," Luciano said.
