Second Chilean casino concession for CAI
The Chilean gaming board has awarded Casinos Austria International (CAI) the concession for the new casino in the central Chilean town of Ovalle, the capital of Limari Province.
Following on from the opening of Grand Casino Los Angeles in July of this year, the new casino in Ovalle will be Casinos Austria International's second casino in Chile. It is due to open in late 2009 or early 2010.
In addition to a spacious gaming floor with eight tables and 180 slot machines, plans for the new complex include a 4-star hotel with 40 rooms, a top-class restaurant and state-of-the-art conference facilities. Total investment in the project is expected to be approximately US$ 18 million.
"Chile has one of the most stable and prosperous economies in South America, and we are looking forward to building on our experience in Los Angeles in this exciting new project," said Paul Herzfeld, CEO of Casinos Austria International.
