GPI in Casino International

GPI has completed an order for the latest casino to open in Macau, in the Hotel Taipa Square opposite the Macau Jockey Club. All 125,000 chips and 28,000 plaques from the world renowned Bourgogne & Grasset brand were manufactured at GPI Sas in Beaune, France.

All of them but the lowest denomination were produced with low 125KHz RFID frequency microchips.
In addition to these RFID chips, a full range of electronic reading devices was supplied with the installation of eight cage and two chipbank readers, complete with the Live and Cashier’s Desk CIDs operating software.
Three ECS – Electronic Chips Surveillance systems – were also installed at various staff exits to detect chips unlawfully taken away from the gaming floor by unscrupulous staff. These detection gates operate exclusively with 125KHz frequency without any additional material to the RFID chips. Christophe Leparoux, Manager International Sales & Marketing for GPI, said: “The adoption of our RFID technology by a rather small size casino  – by Macau standards – such as Taipa Square reflects the growing acceptance by casinos of all types of the RFID technology as the ideal solution to their chips accounting and security concerns.”
