SAGSE Centroamerica 2007 moved by OEA

Published:
01 November, 2006

The organizers of SAGSE Centro America have informed us that “the Panamanian Government has requested that we change the date of the gaming show previously scheduled for 7 - 8 June 2007, so that the ATLAPA Convention Center can be used for the XXXVII General Assembly of the Organization of American States (OEA).

“In consideration of the request by the organizers of this important international meeting, the show organizers agreed to the request to the date change, and because of this SAGSE Centro America 2007 and the IV American Gaming Regulators Congress will take place on the 14 - 15 June 2007 at the ATLAPA Convention Center in Panama City.”

The result of this change obliged by the OEA meeting is that the event in Panama will move closer to the Caribbean Gaming and Hospitality Conference in Puerto Rico, scheduled for the beginning of that week.

Although in reality the events are complimentary, geographically they are in the same region - Central America. However, the argument can be made that the events serve parallel markets, as SAGSE Centro America is directed at the Hispanic gaming region whilst the Puerto Rican show attracts mainly operators from the English speaking countries and also offers conferences on the tourism and gaming sectors.
