EGT slots grace West Africa’s Casino Oceano
Games World International opened 2011 by unveiling the new Casino Oceano in January, in Mamba Point Hotel, conveniently located in the Diplomatic Quarter overlooking the scenic Atlantic Ocean.
Casino Oceano boasts gaming floor space of 600m2, using the best materials in interior design, top of the line slot machines and the latest technology and security systems.
In a welcome speech at the casino’s opening, Games World’s Chairman Tani Hanna said: “We are gathered here today to experience a one-of-a-kind project for West Africa, and certainly the best of its kind in Liberia. Traditionally, doing gaming in this part of the world has been limited to the ambitious non-professionals who, unable to operate such a business in the developed world, take advantage of minimum rules and regulations addressing the gaming industry and hardly any serious competition to reap the rewards of their incompetence in this region. With exception of few places further north and in the southernmost tip of the African continent, it is evident that Casino operators have invested very little in their venues, technology and human resources, doing no justice to the industry or to the entertainment value that a casino should bring to its clientele. We at Games World International have for the last 10 years decided to take a different approach to this, by bringing in radical changes to our African operations. What we are about to reveal to you today is a venue built on the latest technologies the market has to offer this industry in terms of games and operational procedures, we supersede any competition in the African subcontinent by far, and we are very pleased to be the first in the region to operate under the international standards of conduct for gaming operators. Our first experience in Liberia five years ago was a rather shy one. Considering the past few years of political stability and the economic reform spurred on by the government, we were encouraged to take an aggressive approach in 2010 to further expand in the country. Foxwoods agrees TransAct expansion
Foxwoods Resort Casino and MGM Grand at Foxwoods has forged an agreement with TransAct Technologies to install the EPICENTRAL Print System in slot machines throughout the MGM Grand at Foxwoods. This expansion calls for an increase in the installation of the EPICENTRAL system from 300 slot machines to all 1,100 machines at MGM Grand at Foxwoods.
“We’re looking forward to experiencing the EPICENTRAL Print System and hearing feedback from our loyal gamers,” said Lou Rosa, Vice President of Slot Operations for Foxwoods. “With over 6,600 slot machines on our award-winning property, we’re always looking for ways to differentiate Foxwoods and MGM Grand at Foxwoods from the competition and believe this partnership will help us do just that.”
The new EPICENTRAL Print System – connected directly to TransAct’s ServerPort device inside the slot machine – is an easy-to-use, cost-efficient software system that will enable Foxwoods to internally develop marketing programs and promotional coupons to be distributed to customers on a real-time basis at a slot machine. Additionally, the system will work with all existing slot systems and games as it is separate and distinct from the slot system itself. With this, Foxwoods will be able to use the EPICENTRAL Print System to connect to any existing slot machine, regardless of the game’s manufacturer or the current slot system, as long as the slot machine is equipped with a TransAct Epic 950 printer.

Through the use of this software system, Foxwoods will have the ability to provide players with special drawing entries, real-time promotional coupons and marketing messages, restaurant meals, show tickets and hotel rooms, among many other possibilities. Essentially, Foxwoods will be able to utilize the EPICENTRAL Print System to create multiple promotions and incentives to either increase customer time spent on the casino floor or encourage additional visits.
Aristocrat enjoys international Oasis 360 success
Customers at the Chumash Casino Resort in Santa Ynez, California, now have the advantage of a highly sophisticated compass to point the way to all of the incredible amenities the resort has to offer. The compass is the new nCompass media window platform of slot and systems technology developer Aristocrat Technologies which recently completed a successful four-week field trial of nCompass at Chumash Casino.

Under the surface, nCompass is a technologically advanced engine that includes expansion capabilities, greater processing power and greater storage capability for multi-media content.
nCompass empowers a casino to deliver video or animated content, provides state-of-the-art touch-screen interactivity and displays player points earned in a day (or points earned based on tier ranking). nCompass even enables the casino to target marketing messages to specific players on individual gaming machines.
nCompass has been installed on 34 Aristocrat games at the casino. Now with the power of nCompass, Chumash is able to directly reach its customers with messaging on the resort’s full line of amenities including the hotel, casino, showroom, spa and three restaurants.

Aristocrat has also recently enjoyed success with Oasis 360 in Puerto Rico, the first of its kind. The new installation is at the casino inside the Embassy Suites Dorado Del Mar Beach & Golf Resort. With this installation, Aristocrat’s Oasis system is managing operations in six casinos across Puerto Rico.

The $6.6 million Dorado Del Mar Casino is Puerto Rico’s newest venue, and Aristocrat’s Oasis 360 will be monitoring all of the casino’s 258 slots. In addition to the Oasis 360 system, Aristocrat also provided 71 games, earning more than 28 per cent of the casino floor, more than any other supplier.
The Oasis 360 suite custom-built for Dorado Del Mar Casino is extensive and will give the property the freedom, flexibility and strength, to customize programs to enhance operational efficiencies and provide added benefits for their players.
Elsewhere, March saw the debut of Aristocrat’s new slot machine Tarzan Lord of the Jungle at California’s Thunder Valley Casino Resort.
Before the early March celebrations, CJ Graham, General Manager of Thunder Valley Casino Resort, said: “Thunder Valley is thrilled to host the premier of Tarzan Lord of the Jungle. Our guests have asked for more games, and on March 3 we’re making it happen by offering our guests the chance to be the first to play Aristocrat Technologies’ new video slot game.”
