WMS slots continue to delight
Published:  01 February, 2009

IGE sees more wonderful new WMS product enter the international market… Check it out on stand 3060

Modern slot machines have a lot to live up to; the younger generation of slots players have been raised on the Super Nintendo, the Sega MegaDrive, the PlayStation and more; they've been raised on games that succeed using excellent gameplay, and they ask a lot from their entertainment.
Over the last few years, WMS's slot product has reflected this need perfectly. Their slots have evolved into the perfect marriage of form and function, of gameplay and entertainment coupled with the right mathematics to keep players happy. On top of this, the licenses they have adopted make the games even more attractive – Monopoly, Top Gun, Bruce Lee, Dirty Harry to name just a few; it's an addition to one of their licenses that they bring to IGE which will amuse and delight visitors, in the shape of two additions to their Wizard of Oz Transmissive Reel machines.
First up is Wicked Riches, where the Wicked Witch of the West flies into Oz complete with her army of flying monkeys. As with all Transmissive Reels product, it's a mechanical slot machine (five reels, in this case) with a transparent video screen overlaid on the reels, where the game's graphical brilliance is displayed. It features a free spin bonus, four-level LAP awards and Flying Monkeys, which change random symbols into wilds.
Glinda The Good Witch is the second addition to WMS's Wizard of Oz canon. Glinda watches over Dorothy during her journey through Oz, a journey brought to life by superb graphics in this Transmissive Reels category title.
Glinda features a free spin bonus, with emerald picks and multipliers, four-level LAP awards, and Glinda herself can randomly change 1-5 reels into wild reels.
An addition to their brilliant Monopoly selection of slots, next up is WMS's Monopoly Grand Hotel Big Event, with the base themes 'Go Wild' and 'Triple Monopoly'. These base games combine traditional mechanical reel play with a video overlay for enhanced graphics and more winning combinations. A Big Event Multiplier can be acquired during game play, and an extra bet is not even required to be eligible for the Big Event bonuses. On the third reel of each of the Grand Hotel Big Event games is a symbol called the “Multiplier Boost”. This symbol in any position on the third reel awards additional time on the player’s Big Event eligibility meter, resulting in a temporary increase of their Big Event multiplier. The additional time awarded is proportional to the size of the player’s bet, so larger bets result in larger increases in the multiplier. Players will love this feature!
Time Machine can also be found on the WMS stand during IGE, and this is a real 'experience' of a game; with beautifully-designed sound enhanced by Bose speakers positioned to immerse the player in the game, it must be played to be believed. It also has the innovation of past, present and future bonus rounds, which are all different and make for a memorable gaming experience.
That's not all – Orion games are also on display, including Game Pack, Orion's new multi-game series, offering five new games in a single Twinstar II or slant-top cabinet. Players just press the 'Change Game' button for access to the game menu, it's as simple as that!
Players will also enjoy Group Wins – Treasures of the World, the first in their Group Wins line, where players group together and jointly win prizes. Play with friends or strangers, Group Wins is played on a large display over a bank of machines. Treasures of the World takes the player to destinations around the globe and presents chances to enter the bonus game where prizes can be won.

Poll

Will the plans for Russia's 'remote' gaming areas go ahead as the State Duma has described?

  • Yes, almost certainly. It's a great idea.
  • Maybe, with a few revisions it could work.
  • Don't be absurd, it's a crazy plan.
