GLI achieves ISO accreditation
Published:  01 October, 2006

Gaming Laboratories International have become the first private gaming test laboratory to be granted ISO 17025 and 17020 accreditations by the American Association for Laboratory Accreditation (A2LA).

The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) is a worldwide organization that institutes standards for the government and private sector firms to ensure quality performance, dependability and equity in their operations. A2LA is the largest multi-discipline accreditation body in the United States, and the second largest in the world. Its duty is to provide comprehensive accreditation services for laboratories, inspection bodies, proficiency testing providers and reference material producers.

A2LA’s goal is to verify whether or not GLI is following its procedures correctly. After the appropriate assessments were made A2LA granted GLI ISO 17025 accreditation for meeting the proper lab requirements and ISO 17020 accreditation for meeting the proper field inspection requirements. GLI is the only testing laboratory for the gaming industry in the United States that has been accredited to ISO 17025 and 17020.

GLI President and Co-founder James R. Maida said, “This is important for GLI because it means we are always striving to be better and to enhance our performance by developing new ways of doing things. Since its inception GLI has gone above and beyond to provide the highest level of service to its customers. Earning these accreditations means that GLI can take its services to a whole other level of expertise by continuing to offer its customers accuracy and integrity.”

Poll

Will the plans for Russia's 'remote' gaming areas go ahead as the State Duma has described?

  • Yes, almost certainly. It's a great idea.
  • Maybe, with a few revisions it could work.
  • Don't be absurd, it's a crazy plan.
