Gran Scala now Menor Scala?
According to Spanish Gaming News, International Leisure Development (ILD), the company behind the Gran Scala project has scaled back its ambitions and is currently seeking new partners.
An ILD representative is quoted as saying: "The global crisis has affected all sectors of leisure. Several potent casino groups have postponed investments, as well as developing new projects."
It is not clear whether agreements have yet been reached to provide key infrastructure elements, including high-speed road and rail links, and power and water supplies to the site in Los Monegros, Spain.
ILD's revised plans still see the first phase of the development ready in 2012.
