IGE and ATEI shows "nearly booked up" for 2010
More than 80 percent of floor space is now booked up at next year's International Gaming Expo (IGE) and Amusement Trade Exhibition International (ATEI), according to organiser Clarion Gaming Exhibitions.
"To be 80 per cent full at this stage of the marketing cycle and set against the broader trading backdrop is extremely encouraging," said Managing Director Julian Graves.
But, he added, "evidence shows that the most important time to use exhibitions is when trading conditions are poor. It's during these times that businesses require inspiration and when so much can be achieved by being with colleagues and innovators."
In total more than 240 exhibitors have been enlisted for the two events, which run concurrently at Earls Court in London from 26 to 28 January.
They include specialists in low-stake/high-volume gaming, land-based casinos, remote gaming, lotteries, betting, and the broader leisure and amusements sectors.
Firms signed up to show their wares at IGE include Aristocrat, Astra, Atronic, Bally, Boss Media, Games Media, IGT Group, JPM, Merkur, MicroGaming, Novomatic, Play4Win, Playtech, TAB Austria, TCS John Huxley, and WMS Gaming.
"Our exhibitors are manufacturers with R&D budgets, not representative companies, which is crucial," said Graves.
"We know that manufacturers hold back their product launches and timetable their R&D cycles to be able to launch in London," he said, adding that the wide geographical mix of exhibitors was a draw to visitors.
