Innovative's Smart Payout cash recycler handles up to 80 different denominations

Innovative Technology's new Smart Payout device can accept and dispense up to 80 different denominations - a feature which the firm says distinguishes it from most cash recyclers.

"Most of the recycler units currently on the market can accept multidenomination notes but can only pay out one or two small denominations," said Aidan Towey, Innovative's Managing Director.

For example, said Towey, while a typical recycler may accept denominations from 5 Euro to 50 Euro, it might pay out only 5 Euro notes. By contrast, "the Smart Payout can dispense any of the note denominations it has accepted - in theory [it] could dispense 80 different note denominations, including tickets and barcodes".

The Smart Payout will be particularly useful in territories where coins have very low values, suggested Towey, by allowing gaming machines to pay out more often in notes rather than frequently having to empty coin hoppers.

"The multi note payout options provided by the SMART Payout will revolutionise automated payment transactions, and will alleviate the impact of hopper coin starvation plus reduce operate refill and collect time by providing host machines with the option to payout in notes," Towey concludes.

The device is an add-on for Innovative's NV200 note validator. Customers pay in their notes through the NV200 bezel and those required by the Smart Payout are securely stored in the new unit, ready to be paid out as change or prizes. The gaming machine communicates directly with the Smart Payout to designate which notes are required.

Meanwhile, any notes not needed by the device are sent straight to the NV200's own secure storage.

It is the firm's second Smart product this year, following the Smart Hopper, which can pay out 12 coins per second in 11 different denominations.

Separately, Innovative has added USB capability to its NV10 bank-note validator. All other interfaces also remain available.
