IT specialist Hermes SoftLab has named Matt Webb as Sales Manager for Gaming. Webb, who previously worked for a payment solutions firm and for Chartwell Games, will be based in London and work with clients throughout Europe.
Karl-Heinz Herrmann, Franz Hubinger and Rudolf Kern of entertainment electronics specialist TAB Austria Holding were rewarded for long service to the firm at a special company party. Workshop manager Hubinger has been with the firm since 1989, while field service manager Kern and production manager Herrmann have worked there for 30 years apiece, all of them beginning their TAB Austria careers at the old company premises in Traun.
Las Vegas entrepreneur Bob Stupak, whose first major venture was the Vegas World hotel in 1979 and who built the Stratosphere tower in 1996, has died aged 67.
"Stupak, who had largely disappeared from the public eye in recent years as his health deteriorated, will be remembered not just for owning a hotel, building a giant tower or running unsuccessfully for office, but for the flair he brought to these and other endeavours," wrote the Las Vegas Review-Journal.
Bill McQuade has been promoted to Senior Vice President for North America at video security firm IndigoVision. The company is also hiring ten sales account managers, and relocating its technical support and marketing functions from Europe to New Jersey.
Adam McGregor is the new Executive Director of Operations (Macau) at TCSJohnHuxley. Reporting to Managing Director (Asia) Tristan Sjöberg, McGregor will be responsible for administration and manufacturing, service and support, and sales support for key Asian accounts. Most recently he has been Director of Casino Products for Stargames; previously, McGregor led the poker division at Tabcorp.
Philip G. Satre will become Chairman of the Board of Directors at International Game Technology (IGT) on 1 December. He takes over from T.J. Matthews, current Chairman and former President and CEO, who will remain on the board.
An IGT director since January, Satre is also Chairman of Nevada Energy, and a board member at Nordstrom, Rite Aid, Stanford University, and the National World War II Museum.
Satre worked at Harrah's from 1980 to 2005, as Chairman for the final eight years and previously in a range of positions including CEO of Harrah's Entertainment, President and CEO of Harrah's Gaming Division, and Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary.
