New locations boost Pennsylvania revenue
Two new casinos in Pennsylvania pushed gross gaming revenue in the state up by nearly 27 percent in November.
The state’s nine casinos with slots brought in $166,293,583 during the month, up 26.73 percent from November 2008, according to the State Gaming Control Board.
However, at the seven casinos that were already operating in November 2008, gross revenue grew by only 1.02 percent.
The two new venues hiked the total number of slots in Pennsylvania from 16,793 to 24,770.
Revenue is expected to rise further over the next year, with the debuts of two further venues, plus a new home housing more slots for the Philadelphia Park Casino.
