Two casinos in England’s Midlands region have been acquired by an independent operator after going into administration.
Casino 36 Ltd., which runs the eponymous Casino 36 in Stockport, paid an undisclosed sum for the Castle Hill casino in Dudley and The Rubicon in Wolverhampton. Both are located in the conurbation surrounding Birmingham, Britain’s second city.
Casino 36 said it was in “early negotiations” to make other casino acquisitions in the region, according to local reports.
Castle Hill and The Rubicon had been run by Blue Chip Casinos, but since March have been managed by administrators at UHY Hacker Young, whose brief was to obtain the best price possible on behalf of Blue Chip’s creditors.
More than 180 jobs are believed to have been saved by the sale to Casino 36.
