Mark Gasser is the new President of Gasser Chair Company, where he has worked since 1973, becoming Executive Vice President in 1985. The role was previously held by Gary Gasser, who remains Chairman and CEO. The Ohio firm specialises in seating for the hospitality and gaming sectors.

Erik Wijma has been named Sales Director at Suzo Happ, based at its Netherlands headquarters. He joined the company in 2003 as Sales Manager for France, Switzerland and Italy.

Apex Gaming Europe has responded to growing business in Italy, Spain and South America by appointing Darek Borowiec to head a new Spanish subsidiary and Franz Plasser to focus on Italian and Latin American markets.

Kip Haverman, JCM Global’s Western Regional Sales Manager, has been appointed Director of Sales for North America. A 20-year veteran of the gaming sector, Haverman worked for AC Coin and Slot, and others, before joining JCM.

Aristocrat Technologies has named William Wilsnagh as Managing Director for Africa and Europe, based in Johannesburg, and Daniel Lindsay as General Manager for Europe, based in London.

The International Association of Gaming Advisors (IAGA), a nonprofit organisation working on the development and study of gaming law, has installed its officers for 2010. Paul S. West, a member of McGlinchey Stafford in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, becomes President; Gavin Isaacs, COO of Bally Technologies, becomes Vice President; Marc Rubinstein, Senior Vice President of Law and Administration and Secretary of Tropicana Entertainment in Las Vegas, becomes Secretary; Julian Harris, Managing Partner of Harris Hagan, London, becomes Treasurer; and Thomas B.

Shepherd III, a shareholder in Watkins Ludlam Winter & Stennis of Jackson, Mississippi, becomes General Counsel.

Luke Davis, formerly Product Communications Manager, is the new Head of Marketing at TCSJohnHuxley. Before joining the firm in 2005, he was Marketing Communications Manager at Fujifilm Electronic Imaging.

French casino operator JoaGroupe has a new Marketing Director in Pauline Boyer Martin, who also joins the board. Martin came to JoaGroupe in 2007 from Kookai.

Table games technology maker DEQ Systems has recruited Bryan Jenkins as its representative in Australasia and southeast Asia. Jenkins’s past experience in the sector includes a long period as Managing Director of TCSJohnHuxley’s business in the region.

David Greaves joined Innocore Gaming as Operations Director in December. His career has included roles at Black and Decker and De La Rue.

Printer maker Transact Technologies has recruited Lee Weyers as VP of Sales for the casino and gaming sectors, with global responsibilities.

Joaquín Franco Muñoz, joint founder of Spain’s Recreativos Franco Group, died in Madrid in November at the age of 70. He established Recreativos Franco with his brother Jesús in 1975, and was also instrumental in setting up the Codere and Orenes groups.
