888 claims responsibility
Online gaming firm 888 has published its first report on corporate responsibility, covering 2008.
During that year, 888 jointed FTSE4Good – a London Stock Exchange index “designed to measure the performance of companies that meet globally recognised corporate responsibility standards”.
It also donated $232,485 to charities in cash and in kind, and its second annual charity event raised around $50,000 from employees.
It reduced electricity consumption per square meter in its offices by 13 percent, and launched data-mining system ‘The Observer’ to identify problem gamblers.
The firm appointed Ruth Tanami as a dedicated Director of Responsible Gaming in 2006.
