Cirsa sells La Toja stake to ambitious Egasa
Cirsa has sold its 50 percent stake in Casino La Toja to the brothers Gonzalez Fuentes, whose firm Egasa operates more than 60 arcades in Spain and is now moving into casinos.
Egasa already has stakes in the Mallorca and Bilbao casinos, as well as licences – as yet unused – to run venues in Chile and Croatia.
“Today, we are immersed in the ambitious expansion plan, whose first stage will finish at the end of 2012,” said Jose Gonzalez Fuentes. “Then we will open between six and ten casinos in [Central and South] America,” he explained.
Jose Gonzalez Fuentes now becomes President of Casino La Toja, while former President Manual Lao Gorina steps down to a VP role. Alfredo Gonzalez Fuentes will also sit on the board.
