G2E 2010

01 December, 2010

Arguably the biggest event in the gaming calendar, 2010’s G2E in Las Vegas didn’t disappoint

It had quality visitors, in good numbers, and a great atmosphere. This year’s G2E felt more vibrant, had more buzz, than last year’s show. Business was done, deals were discussed, and everyone left feeling happy.
Casino International rounds up the best product we saw at the Global Gaming Expo in Vegas…

Atronic

Atronic had a strong line-up at G2E including new additions to their linked gaming lines, and the striking new OXYGEN cabinet, which also comes in a slant-top option. It’s a great looking cabinet, with twin 22” TFT screens and excellent sound coming via a 4.1 speaker configuration. It’s powered by Atronic’s sensys EP platform, which makes it ready to handle downloadable content thanks also to its simplified button panel. OXYGEN is also Game to System (G2S) compatible and supports all major casino systems and player tracking modules.
Atronic’s diversity multi-game solution brings together some of their top-performing titles (including stand-alone progressives) into a single cabinet, which is an attractive option for players – not least because with diversity, the player can choose the game and with it the volatility according to their preference. Perfect for venues with limited space or an international clientele.
Master ROULETTE is Atronic’s cabinet-based digital roulette solution, with both European or American roulette, and two modes of play to suit player preferences. Master ROULETTE offers bet pattern memory, draw history, and on-demand previous game details.
Also on show were Hot & Wild, based on the well-known CASH FEVER progressive link and featured on the new OXYGEN cabinet. Furthermore, Doggie Cash, which uses the world-famous Artist Collection’s The Dog; this multi-level progressive features two bonus rounds and branding that people will go crazy for. Also Magic 5’s features an incredible EIGHT progressive levels, so that’s sure to be a draw on the casino floor – and customers can win any progressive at any time without the need to enter into a bonus game. Finally, Atronic’s superb-looking Stargate SG-1 continues to impress. It’s a sturdy licence, and Atronic have really come up trumps with the cabinet and overall installation design. It’s very easy to see why this is proving so popular internationally.

Innocore

Innocore had two things to shout about in Vegas – their recent acquisition by Advantech, and their new products launched at the show. There were two new boards (integrated single board computers), the DPX-S415 and the DPX-S425.
The DPX-S415 is an AMD platform sporting ATI Radeon HD4270 graphics which is a DirectX 10.1 engine for enhanced graphics performance, 3D visual effects and dynamic interactivity.  The platform includes AMD’s latest  HyperTransport technology 3.0 to boost system performance and supports the latest Athlon II Neo and Turion II Neo dual-core processors II.
The DPX-S425 is an Intel platform based on Intel’s latest 32nm technology and features Intel Turbo Boost and four-way multitask processing and automatic over-clocking to handle CPU demand, plus integrated Intel HD Graphics. The CPUs supported are the state of the art Intel Core i-5 and Core i-7 with Integrated Memory Controller.

GLI

The market leaders in independent testing, inspection and certification for the gaming industry, GLI showcased its customer-focussed work at the Innovation Station, where people could learn more about the likes of GLI Access, GLI Link, GLI Verify, plus Point.Click.Transfer.
GLI Access allows customers secure access to track and verify submissions and certifications in real time, 24-7. GLI Link is the innovation that allows customers to test devices against systems remotely, saving time and a lot of money. A device in Macau, for example, could be tested against a system in Las Vegas, so there’s no shipping costs or customs complications. GLI Verify is a handheld tool regulators use in the field to verify that the games and systems operating on a casino floor have been tested and certified by the lab. Last but not least, Point. Click.Transfer. is an online application allowing suppliers to quickly and easily transfer previously tested and certified products into new jurisdictions around the world, literally with the click of a mouse.

Aruze

Aruze unleashed a whole new product line-up on visitors to G2E, which included a selection of G-DELUXE multiple bonus slots. Game titles on show were Wheel of Pharaoh, Raging Eruption, Cranky Condor and more.
New communal networked product on show was G-LINK Paradise Fishing, which boasts the impressive Reel Feel technology in the bonus game. Also of note was the mystery progressive link, Title Match, which has a boxing theme.

Interblock

The Slovenian automated gaming specialists had a stunning stand, backing on to IGT’s and really catching the eye with bold red on black as the main colour theme. The stand featured their Organic Island concept, where a player can choose to play a game from any Organic gaming machine on the location, which supports the multi-game principle.
The company was also happy with the show, as Tim Richards, VP Product Management at Interblock’s US arm, said: “G2E 2010 seemed much busier with many more decision makers attending the show.
“The customers were very excited. They were happy to see our multi-game game ability along with our new games. Many North American customers have been exposed to electronic table games like Roulette and Blackjack but when they visited the Interblock stand, the array of products that we offer and how cohesive the different type of games look together was a very powerful message.”
The future looks very bright for Interblock as they continue to expand into North America.

Aristocrat

This year, Aristocrat Technologies Inc. went all out with their most diverse G2E display in 10 years. The company showcased more than 230 games, new cabinets, new math models, new Oasis 360 modules and greater innovation.
Vice President Global Games Doug Fallon states, “This G2E was one of our busiest ever, with continuous activity all three days. We received positive customer feedback around our products. Our stronger retooled product line will give us the advantage as the economy revives.”
Aristocrat exhibited three innovative widescreen cabinets. The VERVE hd was shown in a 32-inch portrait mode. The VIRIDIAN WS features improved ergonomics, easier accessibility and two huge screens. The Vii slant is four inches slimmer and offers hi-def LCD monitors.
More than 270 operators worldwide use the Oasis 360 accounting and player tracking system. Aristocrat introduced two new features. The nVision business intelligence tool uses interactive dashboards and advanced reporting. The nCompass has advanced media delivery that provides operators with better connection options with players.
Players will benefit from Aristocrat’s new Nteractiv LCD Programmable Button Technology – the industry’s first color LCD buttons. It rotates messages to both attract and engage players.
Aristocrat also launched new game categories with original games on them. MEGAPAY earns players a MEGA Pay, where one game becomes four. The unique REMIX shuffle feature randomly rearranges symbols or reels on the screen for additional shuffles and wins. Players of WIN YOUR WAY select their volatility using a three-tier colour system, easily identifiable via user-friendly buttons and onscreen images.

Casino Technology

Bulgaria’s slot masters Casino Technology showcased more than 40 new releases at G2E, all housed in CT’s stylish slot cabinets. Game suites Motormania, Falcon Heroes and Gamopolis – City of Games promise to be every bit as successful for the company as their other titles have proved.
Casino Technology continue to push into Latin America, but also into the US as they have made inroads into California’s tribal casinos in 2010. This is leading to further interest from that area of gaming, though Casino Technology are reporting installations to come in Venezuela, Dominican Republic, Honduras, Argentina and Mexico.

Abbiati

The Italy-based Roulette specialists enjoyed a positive and successful G2E, achieving their goal of meeting potential new clients and making important contacts. The company’s customised live gaming tables were of particular interest, as were their RFID chips and plaques. Another new area of interest is Abbiati’s line of ceramic chips, coming in at an attractive price and with the quality we associate with the Abbiati name it’s no surprise they were popular.
Giorgio Abbiati said after the show, “Our main goal for the coming year will remain to keep improving the product line, trying new designs and materials and looking for new technologies. Abbiati will concentrate to look for the best quality, that could be combined with the best price offer. Looking for new partnerships and valuable collaborations will also make a part of the next year’s plan.”

General Touch

With 10 years of experience under their belts, General Touch showed a strong line of touchscreen products to customers at G2E. A new family of touchscreen monitors were on display, and they did not disappoint; large-screen, multi-touch and 3D touchscreens all wowed visitors.
It’s only a matter of time before touchscreens are the norm in gaming with slots designed to get the best out of the technology. Multi-touch will play a big part in the evolution of slots as a fully interactive and immersive experience, and General Touch will be leading the line as slots evolve.

Novomatic

European-based slot giant Novomatic welcomed many South American customers to their stand during G2E, where guests saw a strong selection of product that included the striking NOVOSTAR SL2 cabinet, and the well-respected Super-V+ Gaminator with the latest Coolfire II multi-game mixes. With up to 27 games per multi-game mix, up to seven player-selectable denominations, multi-language options plus a choice of high/low line-games (5 to 40 lines selectable) these multi-game mixes offer great flexibility.
Also on show was the Ultimate 10 multi-game mixes XA-H: this new and growing range of multi-game mixes is based on the new Coolfire I+ gaming platform and is available in the popular Gaminator cabinet. The Coolfire I+ platform combines the benefits of Coolfire II technology with the cost effective price structure of the former Coolfire I platform.
Novomatic also displayed a comprehensive multiplayer installation comprising Novo Multi- Roulette, Novo TouchBet Baccarat, Novo Flying Black Jack as well as Novo Flying Texas Hold’em Poker, Novo Flying 3-Card Poker and Novo Flying Carribean Poker, all in one system and all available on each of the linked individual player stations. Running on the server based Novo Unity II multiplayer platform it allows casinos to link any chosen number of terminals to different games such as Roulette, Baccarat, Poker and Black Jack to make all those games available at every player station.
Novomatic also presented a selection of Octavian equipment that represents part of the assets Novomatic acquired from the international gaming supplier earlier this year: the exhibited products such as Casino Management Systems were presented in a comprehensive show installation connecting the machines on display. Also, cash handling systems demonstrated at the Novomatic booth included cashless and TITO applications. With the proprietary jackpot system P-Box AGI also presented the brand new jackpot theme ‘Fredy Fortuna’ which has been developed through the close cooperation of Octavian South America and AGI.

MEI

MEI’s show centred around the unveiling of their brand new SC Advance bill validator. The device boasts an improved recognition system, using transmissive sensors at multiple wavelengths to validate notes, faster bill-to-bill speed, expanded memory, four-direction barcode recognition, and importantly an upgrade to USB 2.0. Arguably best of all for Mei’s many customers, these enhancements are in the acceptor head so they can work with CASHFLOW SC units already in place. SC Advance will also work with MEI’s successful EASITRAX Soft Count, too; the company expects to have samples in the field early in 2011, so this is certainly one to keep an eye on.

Cammegh

The Roulette specialists are planning to move their celebrated products into the state of Nevada and at the show, explained to CI that they were in the process of seeking Nevada approval for their wheels.
G2E was another good show for Cammegh, as Andrew Cammegh explained: “The show’s been really good. There are two factors. One is there is a growing interest from the local market about us and our products; the other thing is, our location is absolutely fantastic, we’re right off the main drag. There is also a more buoyant atmosphere here.
“For us, we’ve had a lot of enquiries about our new niche products, our random rotor control for the online gaming sector, Double Shot has been a huge success as a flat side bet; it’s the first time it’s been seen here and the interest has been unbelievable. Our customers know they can their existing wheels and get a fantastic flexible totally tailored side bet to increase value, diversity, offers, promotions… The interest in that has been unbelievable.
“The products are really hitting the sweet spot in terms of what we’re all about; we’re the specialists in the industry for Roulette wheels.”

Merkur Gaming

Merkur arrived in Las Vegas without a grand plan, willing to see what G2E could do for them – and it was a successful trip. Of note for Merkur is their new slant-top slot machine, which attracted a great deal of attention from a wide range of potential customers.
Merkur’s Frank Ziegler spoke about the company’s plans: “We didn’t come here with big expectations; we thought we would see what happens. We wanted to show people who we are, what Merkur and Gauselmann Group can do. People here are sometimes surprised by the size of the company, and that we are a major player in other territories.
“It’s important for our clients and customers, both in South America and in Europe, that we show our products here at the biggest and most important show in the gaming world.
“The Mexican customers have really appreciated seeing our products which will be placed with operators very soon.”
Merkur has some aces up its sleeve though, and Frank assured us that there will be new product launches to come at ICE in January – though they are also booked for the next three years at G2E, too.

Hess

Hess, on the Merkur Gaming stand (both companies belong to the Gauselmann Group), were displaying the Polaris Scorpion voucher redemption terminal, a time, space and labour-saving device that is ideal for operators where the casino pays out the same type of ticket across the floor.
Hess’s Erik De Kat explained how the Scorpion has been improved: “Polaris Scorpion has been redeveloped and tweaked to become one of the most stable and sturdy machines of its type on the market. It performs very, very well now. We have this installed at the Emperor’s Casino in Johannesburg, where they do an enormous number of transactions every month on the Polaris Scorpion. Yet they have a downtime of less than four per cent – and that figure includes the maintenance, filling, refilling, emptying and balancing.
“Now we’re ready to go with this on other markets, we’re concentrating on Australia, the rest of Africa and Europe is becoming a place of interest for us as well.”

Crane Payment Solutions

CPS, which owns the well-known CashCode brand of note validators, has reported a very, very good G2E. CPS maintains this is down to booth position in a high traffic area – though we’re sure their products had some influence on that too! Crane Payment’s Sim Bielak, VP Sales & Business Development – Casino Gaming, said simply, “We have our customers to thank for this years successful G2E show, this was the best show we’ve had in 3 years. Given the post show feedback, we now have greater expectations for 2011.”
Highlights for the company included its CashCode one bill validator, a device designed to handle any protocol, interface and even any voltage for what they say is a truly universal solution.
The 800 Note Cashbox also need mentioning, with 33 per cent more capacioty than the standard – and that large percentage would mean a significant change in required cashbox collections on the casino floor by up to 20 per cent.
Then of course comes oneCheck, the cash management system developed with Nanoptix. It combines the CashCode one validator and the Nanoptix PayCheck 4 ticket printer. It solves player disputes, and allows operators to print separate reports from the validator and printer, reconcile your cashbox contents, plus much more.

Nanoptix
Nanoptix, as well as being on the Crane Payment Solutions stand in the form of oneCheck, also had their own stand, the star of which was the transformer – aka the High Speed Video Lottery Printer [HSVL]. G2e saw the launch of this product, a printer that can be mounted in different ways within a cabinet. It boasts a patent-pending anti-pull bezel which tears the ticket before any length of paper can be pulled from the machine. Add this to a warranty that covers 960,000 tickets, or a 150km printer head warranty, and you’ve got a probable winner on your hands.

WMS
There’s just not enough space here to go into WMS’ Player’s Life Web Services development, or even to touch on their WAGE-NET Tech Center display at G2E, so we’re going to stick to the slots for the moment and come back to the in-depth technology in a future issue.
The standout for us was The Godfather, another powerfully put together license from WMS. It looks wonderful, sounds fabulous and is a really creative marriage of slot gaming and video gaming. It’s a multi-level progressive with two base themes – My Daughter’s Wedding, and Corleone’s Office. It’s a local area progressive, and the two titles give players a look at both sides of the Don’s life.
The very successful Monopoly brand is back for more with Monopoly Around the Globe, with a hot air balloon race around the globe for players. This boasts WMS’s wonderful Transmissive Reels technology and comes in local and wide-area progressives. Another winner in the WMS Monopoly stable.
Another local area progressive that impresses was The Price is Right, one of those TV licenses that straddles both generations and cultures. A really good looking title.
Finally, following on from earlier Oz-related slot products comes The Great and Powerful Oz, which WMS say is their biggest Wizard of Oz gaming experience to date. The Great and Powerful Oz combines Transmissive Reels technology with their Community Gaming innovation and Sensory Immersion for a really powerful gaming experience.

Quixant

The gaming board innovators had a lot of news for us at G2E, as Quixant’s Gary Mullins explains: “Quixant has moved to new offices in Cambridgeshire, UK, and in line with the move we have a new marketing manager starting with the company who is a Spanish-language speaker, as we are now pushing into the Spanish and South American markets into next year. We’ll be attending the ELA show and SAGSE, to promote our products to that market. We recently won a new customer in that market; they had tried all of our competitors’ products and have selected ours. They were one of the top machine manufacturers in Brazil before the market there closed; they have since relocated, of course.
“The South American market is quite price sensitive; the platform we have, as well as being the highest spec and best performance, is also competitively priced for that market.
“We’ve also just employed a salesperson in Italy, since we have established ourselves there with the leading and most cost-effective product in that market. We thought it was time to employ a dedicated salesperson who is working out of our Rome offices. She will develop client relationships and help keep us in the number one position there.”

FutureLogic

After shouting about the GEN2 Universal printer and associated PromoNet coupon marketing technology for the past few years, we were impressed by FutureLogic’s pitch for the new GEN3 Evolution printer. John Edmunds explained to us what makes the new printer so special…
“We’re here to talk to operators about why we’ve introduced the GEN3 printer, what’s special about it, and why people should take a look at it. It’s tied very much to our PromoNet system, so the real benefits of the new GEN3 printer are linked to promotional couponing which is a real buzz phrase among operators that are running TITO-enabled casinos.
“With the GEN3 it’s effectively a faster, higher, stronger equivalent. It has a deeper tray so it can hold more tickets, it prints faster than any other printer in the market, it does photographic quality printing – all of those things are geared towards the fact you’re going to be printing coupons. It’s not just about a black and white barcoded coupon with text – you want images, logos, marketing messages. Because you’re printing coupons as well as tickets, you’re going to need more tickets, because you’re printing two together you want it to print twice as fast…
“We’re very excited about the GEN3. Unlike the GEN2 you don’t need a separate adapter for this – in the GEN3 the PromoNet adapter is built in.
“If you don’t want promotional couponing, the GEN2 Universal is still the printer for you – but if you want couponing, GEN3 is the way to go.”
Also new for G2E was the link-up of FutureLogic’s products with a range of seven slot products from leading manufacturers, so you could see the products in action. Triggers were in place for guests to see how the promotional couponing worked within an actual slot machine environment. It was a very effective demonstration of a great suite of products.

Incredible Technologies

These guys will be making waves in the casino sector before long, with a really interesting suite of products that could work superbly in international territories, as well as their home US market.
Daniel Schrementi, Director of Gaming Marketing, explained their product offering at G2E – and their plans:
“We’re showing a new Hold’Em game called Upper Hand Hold’Em, a revolutionary slot-poker hybrid title where you’re playing a Hold’Em type feel against ten hands.
In Keno we’ve got a new titles called Quad Keno, which lets you bet on different quadrants of the Keno grid; it’s kind of like our answer to Multi-Card Keno; the player can say, “I think seven balls will fall into this quad of the Keno grid”.
“In terms of cabinets we are showing our new slant cabinet with us, the Breeze Slant 75 HD, a bar top cabinet which is brand new at G2E, and our new dual HD monitor upright cabinet, the Breeze Upright HD.
“We’ve had a successful year of testing our products and seeing how they have earned, we’ve pulled them back and geared up our math models to be optimised for the climate we are releasing the games into, and we’re looking to get these games out into the field in the first quarter of next year. We’ll be testing them in a variety US jurisdictions and expanding further, later in 2011.”

DigiDeal

Table games are DigiDeal’s bread and butter, and since their split from IGT in September 2010, they’ve gone back to basics – that is, making some of the finest electronic table games in the business. And as Senior VP of Game Development Dave Krise told CI, the key is flexibility. “We feel we have by far the best and most flexible products in the industry. One of the key facets of our products in addition to the security and productivity is flexibility, we can have our tables approved as GLI 11 which is a slot machine, or we can be GLI 24 or 25 for electronic table games. So those jurisdictions that only allow slot machines and don’t have table games in casinos, they can have table games now; these tables play exactly like a real table game but meet all the requirements of a slot machine.”
On their stand dominated somewhat by a pole dancer, Dave explained some of what they had on show at G2E: “This year we’re showing the L2V (live to Virtual) table which has a live shoe on it. We’re demonstrating it with TCSJOHNHUXLEY’s card reading shoe; some customers have said they want to go that way, so we’re showing our flexibility again. Of course, with a live deck of cards and a shoe you might only deal 200 to 250 hands an hour; with our tables you get in excess of 800 hands an hour.” And with those numbers, taking a closer look at DigiDeal’s products seems to be a no brainer. So we’ll be doing exactly that in a forthcoming issue of Casino International.

Bally

Bally had almost too much product to look at; as with some of their major rivals, it’s mind-boggling when you walk onto the stand the array of choice at every level of product. More than 300 games on show, and the majority of these were in the new Pro Series cabinets running the shiny new ALPHA 2 platform, which itself is optimised for dual screen HD multigame slots. It’s got more up its sleeve too, with the potential to run up to four monitors, backward compatibility, and is network and server-based ready. Add to that the Pro Series’ inclusion of iDeck, and very high quality four-speaker sound, and you have a top-quality player experience.
The standout game for us was probably Betty Boop’s Love Meter, a frivolous bit of branding pulled off with some panache. The bonus features feel like fun, and the cabinet manages to pull off both looking like a piece of hot technology and an old-fashioned carnival love meter at the same time.
On the systems side, Bally’s Command Center caught the eye again, alongside the excellent iView display manager. More o these in-depth products in a future issue of Casino International.

Money Controls

Ardac Elite is at the forefront of Money Controls’ suite of products, a bill validator that images the entire bill and promises to cut the time to solve player disputes right down, as the image is immediately available to floor staff. More than 50 US casinos are now using the Ardac Elite, which is the best endorsement anyone could ask for.
Money Controls was also celebrating at G2E, as news was filtering through about the company’s acquisition by Crane Payment Solutions. This will give Money Controls access to a wide pool of R&D while retaining their independence in product terms; they will be competing with CashCode in the casino business so of course there will be overlap, but this should be good for both companies.

GPI

RFID technology is front and centre for Gaming Partners International these days; the recent agreement with IGT in which GPI acquired the ability to develop, manufacture and distribute additional high-frequency RFID products and systems worldwide has allowed the company to expand its product offering and G2E saw the fruits of this. GPI can now make RFID product which works on both 125KHz and 13.56MHz frequencies.
RFIDPoker has been around for a couple of years now, but GPI has been continuously improving and refining the product. Now the company has added its Progressive Poker system, a wide-area progressive that features three incrementing jackpots that can be won at any RFID Poker Texas Hold’Em table.
Also of note, GPI’s eReady gaming tables, designed and built to accommodate the electronic equipment that is increasingly required on gaming tables.  The eReady table design allows for ventilation and cooling of electronic equipment, elimination of signal interference of RFID transmitters and specially-built areas for shufflers and bill validators that are ergonomically placed for dealer convenience and comfort.

IGT

Some of the technologies that IGT has been working on over the last couple of years are really coming up trumps for the slot giant, and combined with some very tasty licenses the next 12 months and beyond is looking very good for them. The Hangover was a huge hit film recently, and the IGT slot will follow the same trajectory. Perfect branding, great use of characters, and most importantly, genuine fun gameplay. Instantly recognisable and appealing to age groups that don’t necessarily play slots so much, this will do very well on floors internationally.
Another big license for IGT is The Dark Knight. Again, it’s based on a smash hit film and while it may not be what one would instantly think of as ideal fodder for a slot machine, thanks to some videogame-like bonus games, this will appeal to a whole new generation of players. The installation at G2E looked magnificent.
On a smaller scale, IGT’s Godzilla slot uses the classic Japanese monster movies of old as its inspiration rather than the Hollywood blockbuster and as a result, looks great. A nice visual theme for a striking slot bank.
Sex and the City: Big Diamonds is the follow up to the recent slot hit and it looks every bit as strong as the first title. Solid branding and again, IGT is looking at the bigger picture and helping casinos find new customers from all new demographics and age groups.
Star Wars: Droid Hunt is the latest addition to their excellent Star Wars range of slots. You really can’t go wrong with these machines, enough said!

Shuffle Master

iTable Roulette was the real highlight on Shuffle Master’s stand. It increases rounds per hour by up to 50 per cent, almost doubling them. A standard table has been clocked at 36 rounds per hour while iTable can do more than 60; more play, more revenue. The game deals with takes and pays digitally and automatically, and that increases security but also allows the dealer to work with the players, to entertain and draw players in.
Also of note, the MD2 shuffler is a batch shuffler that has undergone some enhancements, as Shuffle Master revealed at G2E. It now has a full colour LCD touchscreen display so you can view cards that are missing from the deck or any issues that might arise from the shuffle.
Shuffle Master continues to drive innovation on table games, enhancing with both simple side bets, entirely new games, and their growing digital offering; their innovations should honestly benefit any operator.

TransAct

New for TransAct at G2E was Epicentral, a product which has already been taken on by Foxwoods Casino in Connecticut. It’s a promotional coupon tool with a twist. Coupons can be designed by marketing staff, blanket-issued or directly targeted, and delivered to the slot floor as you would expect. But what Epicentral also does, is it allows the floor staff to use it as a more immediate and more personal tool. If you have, for example, a member of staff walking the slot floor, meeting and greeting customers, and they have a tablet device or smartphone, they can communicate directly with the printer to initiate a promotion to the printer on the player’s slot machine as they’re talking, in real time. That has real potential to help casinos retain customers with the personal touch. It works with the Epic 950 printer, so it’s backward compatible for existing TransAct customers too.
It’s a very technical product, and we have only touched on it here – we’ll feature more on this in a future issue of Casino International.

JCM

JCM’s iVizion, launched at last year’s exhibition, has gained further traction. The company calls it ‘the foundation of intelligent validation’ because of its Contact Image sensor technology, which is combined with with transparency and reflective sensors that scan 75 times more data points than competitive products. The result? 99%+ acceptance on valid notes, and good counterfeit protection for your casino. Dispute resolution comes thanks to Sentry 2.0, the bezel that allows slot floor staff to see the last bill entered without opening the machine up. Teamed up with JCM’s Intelligent Cash Box (ICB), each transaction is captured and stored on the cashbox for the most secure and robust data reconciliation possible. This unfiltered baseline data gives a redundant source that streamlines the reconciliation process. iVizion has a lot more going for it, but we don’t have the space here – and the same goes for JCM’s interesting forays into display media, which we’ll be covering in a forthcoming issue.
