Just a brief comment on Peru Gaming Show 2006, which took place in early August in Lima, which for many people topped last year’s event by a mile. This and a special report on the SAGSE Buenos Aires 2006 event scheduled for September 11 to 13, a few pages forward.
Truth is that these two Latin American events have become essential stops in the region, as it continues to grow with casino openings, projects and tenders in several countries. Daily news and comment on regional gaming matters are available in three languages of casinocompendium.com
As it is usual in the region, events go day to day from the sublime to the downright preposterous, which in Peru, had the form of another gaming legislation change, when some congressmen from the last administration, chucked out of office by the popular vote passed a white paper that will certainly bring more jitters to the local gaming sector, where almost no casino pays gaming tax.
As it happens, Venezuela is also on the brink of another gaming legislation change, which threatens with increased tax to the sector. This and other matters will be up for talk during FADJA’s Business Round in Caracas, where no doubt, we’ll meet again.
Cheers, Ricki.
Will the plans for Russia's 'remote' gaming areas go ahead as the State Duma has described?
