I write this from Las Vegas, where we are ‘doing’ the G2E, the world’s leading gaming expo. As is usual during this time of the year, we are meeting with friends from the four corners of the globe. In this, as in other things, this annual event is truly global.
We expect that by the time you read these lines the second edition of ChileCasinos 2007 will have already taken place in Santiago, and we’ll be glad to report to you everything of significance from that event in our January issue, which we shall be dishing out during London’s ICE 2007.
While we write this, the Ministry of Tourism in Peru has filed suit against the Legal System for issuing rulings enabling casinos to open without gaming licences and without paying tax, amongst other things; in Chile a judge has stopped the casino licensing process, which is being investigated by a parliamentary commission; and in Guyana the government is about to licence four casino operations in the country.
After Las Vegas we shall make our way back to Mexico to check out the new gaming halls, which are opening on a weekly basis, and then it’s back to London in time for yearend festivities, with snow, according to the weather forecast. We wish you all well for the season of goodwill, and hope that you all get a good prezzy from Santa.
Merry Christmas!
Ricki.
Will the plans for Russia's 'remote' gaming areas go ahead as the State Duma has described?
