Leisure Link, the UK’s leading machine operator and part of Inspired Gaming Group plc, the leading player in the Open Server- Based Gaming (SBG) market, has won the service contract with Gala Coral Group for all of its gaming machines and terminals for a further five years and extended the contract to cover the entire Gala Casino and Gala Bingo estates.
The new deal, which is two years longer than any previously enjoyed with Gala Coral Group, includes regaining the contract for 1,350 machines in Gala Coral Group’s estate in Scotland and extending the contract for the service and maintenance of the Gala Gaming Platform (GGP).
With 170 bingo clubs across the UK, approximately 32 million admissions every year, and a typical weekly payout of £28 million in prize money, Gala bingo is the industry leader. Gala Coral is also the largest multi-site machine operator in Europe, and has 31 casinos across the UK, Isle of Man and Gibraltar.
Peter Hannibal, Electronic Gaming Director, Gala Coral Group commented: “This is one of the most significant contracts that we have in our group and it has been awarded at a crucial time for the gambling industry. With the changing legislative landscape that we have ahead it was important for the Gala Coral Group that we selected the partner that would develop and innovate products and technologies at a similar pace and with the same enthusiasm as ourselves. I believe that we have that partner in Leisure Link and the wider Inspired Gaming Group and I am looking forward to seeing some great results from this new relationship.”
Jim O’Halleran, UK Chief Executive of Leisure Link, said: “A contract of this length and size clearly demonstrates Gala Coral’s endorsement of Leisure Link and confirms the Inspired Gaming Group as the premier operator in the UK. Gala Coral’s commitment to developing its own ‘Open SBG’ platform, GGP, will mean a rapid conversion of its bingo and casino estate and we believe we are best suited to partner Gala Coral in this change program.”
Luke Alvarez, Co-Chief Executive of Inspired Gaming Group, added: “This is a significant achievement for the Group. We have achieved a number of strategic milestones since our flotation, including extended deals with Tabcorp, Coca-Cola and now Gala Coral, which will see our estate of SBG terminals fast approach 40,000 worldwide.”
