Densitron takes DPX-117 to ICE
Published:  01 January, 2007

The new DPX-117, Densitron say, is the first industrial computer board to offer today’s latest dual-core CPU technology on a board specifically designed for the gaming industry.

The DPX-117 supports Intel Core Duo and Core 2 Duo CPUs which have quickly dominated the mobile computing industry with revolutionary performance and groundbreaking power efficiency. Dual-core technology offers a host of performance and security advances for gaming developers, Densitron say, including:

Multi-tasking powerhouse: Intel dual-core technology significantly improves performance in multitasking environments and multi-threaded applications by providing two physical processing units.

Security and Performance: Dual-core technology together with virtualization technology offers many other advantages for gaming applications. For example allowing secure partitioning of software applications, running dual operating systems on one board, critical applications like IO and COMs services and system updates can run in the background without slowing down the system’s graphics performance.

CPU performance on the DPX-117 is complemented by a range of PCI-Express graphics processor offerings including state of the art GPU’s from ATI and Nvidia. Chipsets and CPUs feature on Intel’s embedded roadmap allowing for five years minimum lifecycle and enabling the gaming OEM to choose with confidence.

The DPX-117 will be on display at the upcoming ICE tradeshow in London, January 23-25, at Densitron Gaming’s stand – number 3424.

Poll

Will the plans for Russia's 'remote' gaming areas go ahead as the State Duma has described?

  • Yes, almost certainly. It's a great idea.
  • Maybe, with a few revisions it could work.
  • Don't be absurd, it's a crazy plan.
