GPI ends 2006 on a high note
Published:  01 February, 2007

GPI finished 2006 with much fanfare with several major orders for its renowned ranges of chips and plaques. Amongst them and in addition to the huge order of 956,000 B&G chips delivered to Holland Casino late last year, GPI was also selected by Spielbank Hamburg from Germany to supply the new Casino Esplanade with its new generation of innovative “S2” gaming chips along the traditional plaques and jetons.

On the “other side of the pond”, Panama’s biggest casino operator Alta Cordillera SA favoured GPI for the supply of its latest Crown Casino with 139,000 chips from the Bud Jones brand, some of them fitted with the 125KHz Hitag Vegas-S microchip to enhance the security of the highest denominations.

This followed the successful deployment earlier in the year of GPI’s 125KHz RFID technology in several locations such as the new G Casino in Manchester, Casino de Cartagena in Spain, Caesar’s Palace in South Africa or Galaxy’s City Clubs in Macau, not to mention the 13.56MHz range at Wynn Macau and Starworld Casino in the world’s new gaming capital city.

Besides the RFID-embedded products, GPI also provided its high quality products featuring exclusive security features such as customized holograms, see-through edge inserts and UV or Laser pigments to casinos such as Sands Macau and Genting Highlands.

“ICE 2007 will again be a major event for GPI” declared Christophe Leparoux, Manager International Sales and Marketing “as we will be displaying a very innovative new collection of plaques, an exclusive Electronic Chip Surveillance system based on RFID technology, a RFID-automated poker table, in addition to an expanded RFID applications demonstration pit”.

Poll

Will the plans for Russia's 'remote' gaming areas go ahead as the State Duma has described?

  • Yes, almost certainly. It's a great idea.
  • Maybe, with a few revisions it could work.
  • Don't be absurd, it's a crazy plan.
