Unicum Group and SmartGames, the two major Russian gaming suppliers, have signed an agreement to merge in a significant move to consolidate its strengths of gaming manufacturing in the domestic and international markets. The move has been approved by the board of directors and closed in March.
The new company, Unicum Gaming, will spread its activities across traditional and new markets, reinforcing a position of a major gaming manufacturer and promoting its own and partners’ products in Russia and the CIS countries. Unicum Gaming’s arsenal of course includes Unicum and SmartGames, plus a variety of products from the world’s leading manufacturers – Atronic, WMS, Bally, Konami, Aristocrat, AGT and AGI. Together with strong partner and distribution agreements the new company has inherited a solid network of service centres and representative offices in Russia and the CIS.
The company is headed by Boris Belotserkovsky, Unicum’s President. The CEO position is taken by Valery Klesov, Chief Executive Officer of SmartGames. Peter Moffitt , Vice President of Gaming and Chief Technology Officer of Unicum, will continue serving as the head of Unicum Gaming’s research and product development. Sales and marketing will be lead by Lyubov Loginova.
Will the plans for Russia's 'remote' gaming areas go ahead as the State Duma has described?
