Europe’s most exclusive gaming event of 2007 – IGE, Lake Como
Published:  01 May, 2007

May 30th to June 1st sees a new event on the international exhibition calendar in the shape of the International Gaming Expo, at the Villa Erba Conference & Exhibition Centre, Lake Como, Italy.

May 30th to June 1st sees a new event on the international exhibition calendar in the shape of the International Gaming Expo, at the Villa Erba Conference & Exhibition Centre, Lake Como, Italy.

The event comes at a great time, with Italian gaming and gambling markets opening up after the recent Placania case in the European Court of Justice. Their ruling means a number of online and land-based operators from outside Italy can now compete with the country’s domestic business; gambling operators from the UK are thought to be particularly interested, with Stanley leading the way. This will be of particular interest to casinos running sports betting in the country, or wanting to, and of course could have much wider repercussions regarding gaming overall in Europe, online in particular. Expect this hot topic to be discussed at IGE in some depth.

The IGE exhibition promises to cover the whole range of gambling and gaming for visitors. Over 30 companies are on the exhibitors list at the time of going to press, from more than 10 countries. Can you afford not to be there?

Poll

Will the plans for Russia's 'remote' gaming areas go ahead as the State Duma has described?

  • Yes, almost certainly. It's a great idea.
  • Maybe, with a few revisions it could work.
  • Don't be absurd, it's a crazy plan.
