An old church in Aberdeen is the location for a stylish new casino. TCSJOHNHUXLEY worked with the men behind the project so they can offer customers arguably the finest gaming experience in the area…
Having a casino in a church may seem immoral to some; however, the transformation of the new Soul Casino in what was the old disused Langstane Kirk in Aberdeen’s fashionable Union Street, is a tasteful and thoughtful development that quite simply, is now a stunning venue.
Stage one of the development started two-and-a-half years ago with partners Stuart Clarkson and Hytham Bedawi installing a first floor in the main body of the building. This allowed the development of the Soul Bar on the ground floor, which is now regarded as probably the foremost café-bar venue in Aberdeen where surroundings, ambience and service ensure a visit is a “must do” when planning a night out in the city.
Since then Stuart and Hythem set about gaining the necessary gaming permits and licenses, culminating in the conversion of the first floor of the old church into the new Soul Casino. Their main objective was to provide a brand new casino venue, a step above what was already being offered in the city, where quality and service would be paramount, matched by luxurious surroundings to reflect the natural beauty of the 19th century building.
TCSJOHNHUXLEY’s Northern UK Account Manager Geoff Oldfield worked closely with Stuart and Hythem throughout the two-year development program to offer advice and guidance on the final fitting out of their new casino. “Working with Stuart and Hytham was an absolute pleasure. The project was as much a labour of love for me as it was for them” he said on the opening day. “The selection of the finest quality materials and finishes has resulted in us being able to supply a great range of products that blend superbly with the surroundings”
TCSJOHNHUXLEY supplied all the tables including American Roulette, Reversible Card Tables and a 16-player Punto Banco, all custom-designed to blend in with the design and finish of the interior. The installation was completed with Chipper Champ Plus machines, Saturn wheels, a 20-terminal Novo Unity TouchBet Roulette system with Auto Wheel, value chips, wheel checks, playing cards, plaques, table signs, full surveillance and door entry systems, together with all associated accessories.
Stuart Clarkson complimented the TCSJOHNHUXLEY team for their thorough attention to detail and excellent product finish. “We had absolutely no worries or concerns regarding the products purchased from TCSJOHNHUXLEY. They are the experts in the field and provided helpful advice and delivered exactly what we needed on time and as promised.”
There is absolutely no doubt that this beautifully appointed building is a credit to the city, to the industry and but, most of all, to Stuart Clarkson and Hytham Bedawi.
It has been announced that Birmingham, England is to get a new casino at the National Exhibition Centre. Does Birmingham need another casino?
