GPI leads the field

GPI at G2E Asia 2007

RFID chip experts bring a full product range to Macau for G2E Asia 2007

With a clutch of new orders under its belt, GPI is approaching the G2E Asia show with optimism and confidence. “We will display a new line of innovative plaques designs and finishes as well as our full range of gaming chips, from our three styles of wheelchecks to the low-end value chips, the Bud Jones chips and the highly secured Bourgogne et Grasset products,” declared Christophe Leparoux, the company’s International Sales and Marketing Manager.

GPI is currently supplying all the casino operators in Macau where it boasts a very dominant market share. This leadership is being strengthened with the recent announcements that other major Macau casino operators are entrusting GPI with the supply of their chips inventory.

Early last month, GPI completed the production of an order from Crown Macau Casino for approximately 70,000 Bourgogne & Grasset high frequency (13.56MHz) RFID plaques as well as for all the wheelchecks with its Bud Jones roulette chips. GPI supplied several sets of the state-of-the-art B&G plaques using high frequency RFID technology from Magellan. Gerard Charlier, president and chief executive officer of GPI, said: “We are extremely proud to have been selected by an operator as prominent as Crown Macau for such an important casino opening. We are effectively leveraging our leadership in the broader casino currency market to create additional growth opportunities such as expanding our presence in the rapidly expanding market for RFID. We believe this order underscores GPI’s position as the world’s leading provider of RFID technology to the gaming industry and we look forward to helping make the operation of Crown Macau a success.”

Christophe Leparoux added: “GPI plaques are unique and have no rival when it comes to security, quality, durability, and class. Both players and casinos expect a plaque to be much more than a piece of printed plastic, and we believe our B&G plaques provide a sense of distinction. With 125KHz and 13.56MHz RFID technology available to our casino customers, we are able to address casinos’ distinct needs for both security and operational applications such as player tracking.”

Las Vegas Sands’ Venetian Macau is another leading Macau operator that recently confirmed the purchase of close to 1.6 million chips from the B&G brand. These chips will feature exclusive security features such as high security holograms, UV pigments, LaserLock infrared pigments and see-through inserts. They will be produced at GPI’s facility in Beaune, France as some of the highest security chips ever made by the group. “Our exclusive security features and high quality standards combined with tightly controlled production facilities and procedures guarantee the best possible level of security and integrity when it comes to the supply of a casino currency,” said Christophe Leparoux. “The management team at LVS Venetian has already experienced GPI’s service with the supply of chips to Sands Macau over the last three years and we are particularly proud and grateful for their renewed support and confidence shown in our company and products.”

GPI supplies the Bourgogne et Grasset brand chips and plaques made in Beaune, France as well as the Bud Jones chips from Las Vegas directly to casinos worldwide. Management believes that beyond the intrinsic quality and sophistication of the products, this direct contact between the customers and a long-established manufacturer is key to a successful partnership, particularly in an extremely demanding and challenging market such as Macau.

“We have been successful in Macau but also on worldwide markets because we are a manufacturer specialized in casino currency supply and operators know they can rely on our company and products,” concluded Christophe.
