Inspired floats, acquires and wins

Inspired Gaming Group announced its admission to the AIM in early June, in a move designed to allow the company to extend its apparent lead in the UK server-based gaming market.

IGG announced the completion of its acquisition of Red Vision immediately after the AIM admission on its first day of trading as the company expands aggressively and with a vision and energy typical of Inspired. Red Vision’s virtual sports content, such as virtual horse and greyhound racing as well as football, is licensed by IGG to retail and online gaming operators as well as digital TV broadcasters. Customers include Coral Eurobet, Ladbrokes, William Hill and BSkyB (Virtual Horse Racing appears on Sky Vegas Live, Sky’s live iTV entertainment and betting channel). The company is also a leading producer of custom CGI work for TV production companies in the UK and has won the BAFTA for Visual Effects for the last two years running. Broadcast clients include the BBC, Channel 4, Granada, Wall to Wall, Tiger Aspect, Discovery Channel and more. Red Vision is currently in the process of expanding facilities in three of its locations, Manchester, London and Bristol, to manage its current broadcast book and is also recruiting additional staff in both the broadcast and virtual sports areas of the business. Luke Alvarez, co-CEO of Inspired Gaming Group plc, commented: “Our partnership to date with Red Vision has been extremely successful enabling us to provide the market leading product for Virtual Sports across the betting community in the UK. We are committed to the continued expansion of Red Vision’s CGI expertise as we see this as being the creative hub for both broadcast and gaming sectors. We see tremendous opportunities for both our client bases.” Dave Mousley, Managing Director of Red Vision, added: “As part of IGG we will now have a real platform for expansion across all areas of our business – broadcast programming and advertising as well as gaming. We already have a strong track record in innovation and delivering creative excellence for our clients and the acquisition will help us to build on this significantly by harnessing the breadth and scale of the resources within IGG.” Meanwhile, in association with Gala Group, Inspired has won international recognition from American magazine Casino Journal for its Gala Gaming Platform as one of the ‘Top 20 Most Innovative Gaming Technology Products in 2005’. This came hot on the heels of a ‘Fastest Growing Company’ award from Media Momentum in the UK, an award it wins for the second consecutive year. Alvarez concluded: “Gala’s commitment to GGP clearly demonstrates the benefits of server- based gaming for any large casino operator and we are extremely proud that our serverbased approach to gaming has been recognised by such a highly regarded U.S. publication. “International expansion is an important strategy for Inspired in 2006, especially in the US. We attended and spoke at the Gaming Technology Summit in Las Vegas for the first time last month and we will also be exhibiting at G2E Expo in Las Vegas in November.”

Poll

Will the plans for Russia's 'remote' gaming areas go ahead as the State Duma has described?

  • Yes, almost certainly. It's a great idea.
  • Maybe, with a few revisions it could work.
  • Don't be absurd, it's a crazy plan.
