3M and Elatec in East Central Europe agreement
Published:  01 July, 2007

3M has signed a new distribution agreement with Elatec Vertriebs GmbH to reach new customers in selected East Central Europe markets. Elatec will market 3M’s comprehensive range of touch products to customers in Poland, Hungary and Bulgaria, providing in-depth technical support for their application specific requirements.

“We are very excited to be able to support our customers in Poland, Hungary and Bulgaria with innovative, high performance products from 3M Touch Systems, especially in the area of capacitive technology,” said Hans J. Leisten, Senior Managing Director of Elatec Vertriebs GmbH. “This expansion will further strengthen Elatec’s line card and represents another step for us to proliferate our existing suppliers’ portfolios throughout East Central Europe.

Under the agreement, Elatec will offer key 3M products such as the MicroTouch ClearTek II Capacitive Touch Screen series, M150 and M170 LCD Touch Monitors as well as the EX II Capacitive Touch Controller portfolio. The distributor will work closely with customers to ensure successful product design in their solutions and applications for the display environment.

Salvatore Giambruno, EMEA Sales Manager, 3M Touch Systems, stated: “Elatec has proven ability to support demand creation for leading-edge technology products and it made sense to expand our cooperation into emerging East Central Europe markets. Elatec’s business model, focusing on display business and excellent technical support through field application engineers, combined with strength in logistics and value-added services, is exactly what we are looking for.”

Poll

Will the plans for Russia's 'remote' gaming areas go ahead as the State Duma has described?

  • Yes, almost certainly. It's a great idea.
  • Maybe, with a few revisions it could work.
  • Don't be absurd, it's a crazy plan.
