More management changes for Inspired
Published:  01 July, 2007

Inspired Gaming Group has made a number of changes as part of its ongoing drive to exploit the worldwide growth in Open Server-based Gaming.

Jim O’Halleran will become Chairman, Inspired Gaming (UK) Limited, reporting to co-CEOs Luke Alvarez and Norman Crowley. In this expanded role O’Halleran will have direct operational control over two of Inspired’s fastest growing businesses, Leisure Services and Ireland, and will continue to be involved in the development of UK strategy. O’Halleran will continue as an Executive Director on the plc board. Adam Hodges will be promoted to Managing Director, Leisure Services, reporting to O’Halleran.

Paul Terroni, currently Group Strategy Director (and formerly MD of IGT subsidiary Barcrest), becomes CEO of Inspired Gaming UK, also reporting to Alvarez and Crowley and working closely with O’Halleran. Terroni will lead the UK machine operations and drive forward Inspired’s strategy for Open SBG™-led growth of the UK business. Reporting to Terroni, Barry Knowles has been promoted to Managing Director, Casino and Bingo and Neale Deeley to Managing Director, Pubs and LBOs.

On the back of winning major CGI contracts such as “Ocean’s Thirteen” and given the substantial International opportunities for Inspired’s virtual sports business, Inspired is separating Virtual Racing from the Television division of the Red Vision business to enable better focus on each. Jonathan Mills will join the new business as Managing Director of Inspired Virtual Gaming. Dave Mousley will continue to head up the television business. Mills is a new hire for Inspired and he has held many senior executive roles in other technology companies.

Inspired is also apparently ready to capitalise on the many new opportunities in the UK market for third-party field service beyond its core gaming operations. A new, more distinct business unit will therefore be created to hold Inspired’s Managed Service functions, led by Dave Wilson as CEO.

These changes are in addition to a number of key recruits in the first half of the year into Inspired’s International and Software Development divisions.

Poll

Will the plans for Russia's 'remote' gaming areas go ahead as the State Duma has described?

  • Yes, almost certainly. It's a great idea.
  • Maybe, with a few revisions it could work.
  • Don't be absurd, it's a crazy plan.
