Casino International Managing Editor Jon Bruford enthuses about the September issue of the magazine...

It’s an exciting issue for Casino International, as we’re welcoming a new writer on to the team. You can read his first feature for us, starting on page 26 – it’s six packed pages to tell you about the present and future of server-based gaming, and should help you, the operator, understand it even better. It’s the future for the casino floor, and we hear from the major players in the industry where it’s heading and why.

Also new this issue is three pages of new installations, from security cameras to slot machines and seating. Find out what has been placed where in this busy new section.

Our regular columnists are here, along with a new one in Nick Hawkins, the former Shadow Gambling Minister in the UK. He explains frankly what’s been going on in Parliament recently in a fascinating piece on pages 32 and 33. He’ll be with us every other month, and it promises to be a great read if this first column is anything to go by.

Finally, I run the Las Vegas marathon for UK charity Kidscape in December – and I’d like as many companies from our industry to donate as they can. Pledge online at: www.justgiving.com/bruford

If 20 companies can give £500 each, we’ve raised £20,000. If you can’t manage that, every bit helps.

Jon Bruford

Managing Editor

Poll

Will the plans for Russia's 'remote' gaming areas go ahead as the State Duma has described?

  • Yes, almost certainly. It's a great idea.
  • Maybe, with a few revisions it could work.
  • Don't be absurd, it's a crazy plan.
