New gaming entity in Russia
Published:  01 July, 2006

Union of Gaming Business Associations is formed in Russia. Gaming Business Association (ADIB), National Association of Handbook men (NAB) and Association of Gaming Business in Internet (AIBI) have announced about the foundation of the new alliance.

The principle aim of the entity is to support the joint efforts of honest entrepreneurs in order to implement a competent and balanced policy in development of a civilized gaming business market, based on the principles of open competition. The independence of its new members is guaranteed. Among its applicants are already the “All Games” association and the Association of Gaming Business Representatives. Igor Ballo, the president of the ADIB, commented: “It is a great step forward for us. After the first hearings of the new gaming draft law we realized how it is important for us and for the lawmakers as well. The law cannot be accurate in the situation when about 10 different associations present amendments of their own diverse interests. We advise to continue a dialogue with the state authorities not through multiple associations but through the single Union, which reflects interests of the whole gaming business. The whole of our business should respond to the changes taken place in the county.” Oleg Zhuravsky, the president of Association of Gaming Business in Internet (AIBI), revealed solidarity: “The principal point is that the Union would comprise all the gaming sectors and not only the manufacturers but also the gaming operators. The majority of gaming business representatives has the same concerns towards new gaming legislation. The uniform rules of the game should be created for every member of the market.” In the nearest future everyone will be able to see the mission of the Union of Gaming Business Associations through its web-site on the Internet.

Poll

Will the plans for Russia's 'remote' gaming areas go ahead as the State Duma has described?

  • Yes, almost certainly. It's a great idea.
  • Maybe, with a few revisions it could work.
  • Don't be absurd, it's a crazy plan.
