Gaming Awards 2008
Published:  01 November, 2007

‘Twas the night before ICE 2008, and in London’s Natural History Museum, a new awards event was stirring... Empire Events would like your support for a new charity fund-raising awards show.

Casino International is delighted to pledge its support to the inaugural International Gaming Awards ceremony for land-based gaming, which is taking place in London on 21st of January 2008, at The Natural History Museum.

The event promises to be the industry’s biggest gathering of the year – the perfect opportunity to network with the industry and celebrate excellence. The aim of the ceremony is to help international charities and promote a good image for the gaming industry.

The organizers, through our pages, call on all organizations, associations, manufacturers and operators to join together in making the awards an occasion to support some truly deserving charities.

The Gaming Awards will be donating a percentage of profits, table bookings and sponsorships to the Macmillan House, and Care International charities.

These awards have the potential to be our Oscars, when we get the chance to publicly recognise the wonderful achievements of some of the people and companies over the year. The event turns our short-listed nominees into stars for the day, taking place as it does the night before the ICE show begins.

The organisers wish to thank the companies who have shown incredible generosity by participating in The Awards and purchasing sponsorship packages and booking tickets so far.

The ceremony will be presented by popular British comedian Jimmy Carr, and of course our sponsors will join him on the stage to present an award to the winners.

Empire Events, the organisers, would like to make it a truly International event and our plan is to relocate the awards ceremony to a different part of the World each year, supporting more charities around the globe.

The Gaming Awards panel will be posting names of companies who have been nominated for the awards, and Empire Events will be updating readers on the latest news on the official web site, at www.gamingawards2008.com.

Tickets and sponsorships are sold on a first-come first-served basis, so do not miss out on a fantastic evening and make your company name remembered for a good cause.

Thank you and good luck from Empire Events, Macmillan House and Care International.

Poll

Will the plans for Russia's 'remote' gaming areas go ahead as the State Duma has described?

  • Yes, almost certainly. It's a great idea.
  • Maybe, with a few revisions it could work.
  • Don't be absurd, it's a crazy plan.
