The new Aspers casino opened recently in Swansea, with a huge celebration in early September. Casino International attended and liked what it saw...
With a red carpet welcoming guests and staff working flat-out to ensure everyone could get in without too much of a wait, the act of entering Aspers at Salubrious Place was surrounded by frenetic energy, a real buzz generate before you even walked in to the splendidly-appointed venue. Paparazzi waited for celebrity guests – though non-celebrities were treated just as well as their better-known counterparts.
Inside was humming with conversation as champagne flowed, magicians did the rounds on the floor and people enjoyed the table games on offer, the odd canapé and free glass of wine a bonus.
Many sports stars milled around, and everyone there seemed to enjoy X-Factor runner-up Ray Quinn's performance in the middle of the evening.
The 57,000 square foot casino development includes bars and an area which is a café during the day and a cocktail bar by night. Every available part of the floor seemed to be occupied on the night, and enjoyed to the full.
As opening events go, this was excellent – a suitable introduction to their new gaming facility for the people of Swansea.
Will the plans for Russia's 'remote' gaming areas go ahead as the State Duma has described?
