As a result of the last hearings the new law in Bashkiria has been passed recently.
According to the law all the gaming venues should be located within the special areas, which would be predetermined in agreement with local authorities. The requirement will be executed in January 2008. Additionally the law prohibits placing gaming halls in the streets, inside temporary structures, dwellings, shopping markets and emporium, post-offices, banks and loan institutions, within medical, educational, cultural and sports establishments, in stations, inside religious temples, and also inside premises of state and rural ownership. The gaming hall should get an approval from the local authority. The municipal administration predetermines the working regime of the venue located outside of the living area. The night operating regime is also specified for the venues located within the living area. It would be from 10pm to 8am. The law prohibits underage and credit gambling. It comes into force on January 1, 2007 except for the clause about gaming halls location.
Will the plans for Russia's 'remote' gaming areas go ahead as the State Duma has described?
