First UK TV advertising campaign for gambling ‘not irresponsible'

The first television advertisement for gambling attracted just four complaints, between them alleging that it was irresponsible on five counts. The UK's Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) also looked at a sixth potential count of irresponsibility, but ruled that no further action was required. None of the complaints, which were examined against the UK's new Advertising Standards codes, were upheld by the ASA.
Ladbrokes said it had worked hard with its agency and the Broadcast Advertising Clearance Centre (BACC) to ensure they fully met the requirements of the CAP TV (Broadcast) Advertising Standards Code.
