Casino International's Editor, Jon Bruford, had to admit defeat while running the Las Vegas Marathon, scale back his ambitions and settle for completing the half-marathon.
"I was hit by a knee injury," he explains. "Rather than risk serious damage, the most sensible - but personally very disappointing - option, was to abandon the 26-mile run, and limp home half way."
Bruford stayed on in Las Vegas after G2E to compete in the race and raise money for charity. He also found time to get married in a romantic ceremony involving Elvis.
