Casino Technology entered 2008 with a new cooperation project with Merkur Casino. The Bulgarian slot manufacturer provided a number of machines from their premier GEMINI range to complement the slot mix at the recently opened Merkur location, situated in the prestigious Prater district of Vienna. Casino Technology’s MULTI GEMINI series of games has proved very popular with the players since opening night.
What makes this casino a little different is the integrated use of two well-known slot systems, allowing players complete flexibility and convenience: Atronic’s cashless system, which has been used for player tracking, marketing and general control and the TITO system. Harald Legenstein of GCI who was charged with the task of working with Casino Technology software developers to achieve the integration, comments: “This was a really tough challenge for Casino Technology given the time deadlines required. I’m glad to say they rose to the challenge and completed their part of the integration successfully. I would also say their integration of the hardware required by the two systems into their cabinets is probably the neatest and visually most attractive I’ve seen.”
Peter Pamminger, General Manager of Merkur Casino Austria is also satisfied by the result: “We believe this to be the first time this type of full integration has been completed,” he stated. “We are very pleased with the commitment and energy Casino Technology has shown with this project and look forward to opening many more projects with them.”
Steve Surch, Casino Technology’s Group Director of International Sales and Marketing commented: “We are extremely pleased to be a part of this exciting new venture. I would like to congratulate Merkur on their opening and wish them every success. We look forward to working with them again in the future’. He added: “Connecting these two well-known systems allows us the opportunity to extend our sales development process further into Western Europe and target all premier casino locations in 2008. A lot of hard work by our software team has taken place over the last few weeks to complete this integration and I would like to thank them publicly for their efforts.”
This isn’t the only location Casino Technology has been involved with in Merkur Gaming estate. The recently-opened Palms Merkur casino in Sofia is the largest electronic slot casino in Bulgaria. Located in the Expo Hotel this cutting edge location also boasts the first grand-piano roulette installation, developed by Casino Technology, which caused much delight at the recent G2E. Also new to Sofia is the electronic poker area. Further placements of CT machines have been planned in Merkur Romania, Hungary and Slovakia.
Will the plans for Russia's 'remote' gaming areas go ahead as the State Duma has described?
