With one of the most boring budgets in the history of politics behind it, and a vow from the UK Government that there will be no ‘supercasino’ in Manchester, things in the UK haven’t been all that exciting of late. But the pessimism of the UK economy is tempered by the enthusiasm the gaming world has toward the Gran Scala project which should be breaking ground in just a few months.
In fact, in many places around the world, economies and gaming are booming. Macau – despite gloomy forecasts on potential growth in Macau from US economists – has another huge resort on the go, which you can read all about on page 22. The feature is by Macau Business, part of our association with this excellent magazine. We hope you enjoy their input.
Also new this issue is a report on the i-gaming side of the London Show, ICEi, and a look at a beautiful new casino in Kiev. All this is alongside our usual excellent columnists, Ricki Chavez-Munoz and Sharon Harris. Elsewhere, page 32 has an interview with TransAct’s Tracey Chernay. It’s an insight into the company, how they work and where they plan to grow.
Hope you enjoy the issue – as always, feedback is welcome to jonbruford@yahoo.co.uk
