PokerTek has gained licences and is starting field trials of its PokerPro products in the US states of Iowa and Indiana.
The Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission issued a temporary Manufacturer/Distributor licence to PokerTek and approved the PokerPro System for field trial, making PokerTek, Inc the first provider of automated poker for Iowa.
The Indiana Gaming Commission (IGC) has issued a temporary supplier license to PokerTek. In addition to the supplier licence, the IGC has also approved the PokerPro System for field trials for all 11 Riverboat Casinos in Indiana.
This temporary licence and product field trial is the result of a year-long process that included extensive investigation and evaluation of both PokerTek and its PokerPro product.
"We have already had the opportunity to introduce PokerPro to Indiana poker players who've played at our tables in neighbouring states," said Chris Halligan, PokerTek CEO. "The reviews we've received in this region have been phenomenal, and we look forward to expanding into this market."
