Aristocrat is moving its global manufacturing operations from Sydney to London in a decentralising operation that the company plans to have completed by June 2008.
European customers are expected to benefit from the relocation of all machine production, assembly, quality control, and despatch operations, according to Aristocrat Europe's Director of Operations, Stuart Brown, who said: "changes in the global supply chain mean that the activities we are carrying out in Europe will be more complex than in the past as we allow for an increase in the range of product that will be available."
"In addition to an expanded portfolio, we foresee customers experiencing shorter lead times and a greater flexibility in our ability to provide bespoke solutions."
The restructuring of the UK operation has in recent months incorporated two important appointments for the company. Business Process Reengineering Manager, David Wall has overseen the ‘PRECISE' project, looking at all systems and processes involved in the switchover. Danny Martone, who filled the newly-created post of Operations Manager, has extensive experience of developing and implementing Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRP) processes, and has in-depth knowledge of all aspects of new product introduction.
