PGI’s Texas Hold’Em a hit
Published:  01 November, 2006

Casino Cosmopol in Sweden has cashed in on the success and excitement generated by the new World Series of Poker (WSOP) Texas Hold’Em game phenomenon, by installing one gaming table in their Gothenburg Casino, two tables in their Stockholm Casino and one table in their Sundsvall Casino.

The single game initially installed at the casino has been so successful that they have quickly chosen to install another three tables to start generating more revenue and increase player interest and excitement over the gaming tables.

Casino Cosmopol dealer Emma Jansdotter indicated that the game is popular with less experienced players who like to try the game out. “Guests who come to the casino to enjoy a nice evening, who perhaps don’t play at the gaming tables much because they are inexperienced, like to try the WSOP Texas Hold’Em table. There are a lot of guests who have played poker on the internet, but have not played live poker. This game gives them an ideal environment to test it out and they really like the WSOP table, it is very popular.”

Casino Cosmopol Senior Duty Manager, Jaak Murro explains how satisfied he is with the WSOP Texas Hold’Em game after just two months. “This is a very good game for us. It attracts many new guests to the table games.”

Tim Parker, Progressive Gaming’s Sales Director commented, “Progressive Gaming is delighted to see the success of this game at Casino Cosmopol. The fact that the game is so popular with customers, proves that this game really does have a huge impact on the casino gaming floor. We knew we had a strong product that would be popular and it is fantastic to see such a positive response from Casino Cosmopol and their customers in such a short space of time.”

Poll

Will the plans for Russia's 'remote' gaming areas go ahead as the State Duma has described?

  • Yes, almost certainly. It's a great idea.
  • Maybe, with a few revisions it could work.
  • Don't be absurd, it's a crazy plan.
