Locations for the four legs of the Asian Poker Tour have been confirmed as Manila in the Philippines, Seoul in South Korea, Macau in the People's Republic of China, with a venue yet to be confirmed in Singapore.
The first leg of this year's tour takes place between May 27th and June 1st. Organisers claim it is by far the biggest poker event to be held in the country.
Recently acquired by AsianLogic through its subsidiary ESL, the Asian Poker Tour event in Manila boasts a US$1,000,000 prize pool with a US$2,500 player buy-in. It is expected to attract at least 400 poker players, including the region's leading poker players as well as personalities from the poker world. Land based satellites are being held in the major cities in the Philippines.
"Poker is booming in Asia and nowhere faster than in the Philippines," said Mr. Chris Parker, AsianLogic CEO. "It is quite appropriate that we should hold our first tournament of the year of the new Asian Poker Tour in Manila."
