Gaming Laboratories brings more regulators to the table
Published:  27 June, 2008

The seventh annual Gaming Laboratories International (GLI) regulators roundtables for North America drew over than 200 regulators from 93 jurisdictions across the United States and Canada. GLI's fifth annual European Roundtable attracted 47 regulators from 18 jurisdictions across the continent, from the UK to Lithuania.

"GLI's Roundtable is a great opportunity to become more familiar with new technologies and current world practices in adopting them. We found the roundtable very useful, and we are impatiently waiting for the next meeting," said Danielius Sta×sys, Head of Gaming Devices Inspection and Register Division, State Gaming Control Commission in Lithuania.

GLI Sr. Director Engineering and Client Services Ian Hughes said, "We are thrilled with the way the roundtables went. Today, 111 jurisdictions around the world are more informed and more prepared for their regulatory challenges, and that is extremely beneficial to the global gaming industry."

"No other company offers such an experience, and we are proud to present the roundtables and to do it free of charge," he added.

Gaming Laboratories International has become the first organisation approved as an authorised test laboratory in accordance with the Gaming Standards Association's new Certification Program.

The approval will allow GLI to provide certification reports to clients seeking approval of gaming equipment that supports GSA's G2S, S2S and Transport standards.

GLI is currently the only organisation in the world able to offer this new testing service for the new standards published under the GSA Certification Program.

Poll

Will the plans for Russia's 'remote' gaming areas go ahead as the State Duma has described?

  • Yes, almost certainly. It's a great idea.
  • Maybe, with a few revisions it could work.
  • Don't be absurd, it's a crazy plan.
