GLI has announced its two newest standards: GLI-24 and GLI-25. GLI- 24 addresses Electronic Table Game Systems that function automatically and do not require a live dealer to be present at the game. GLI-25 covers Dealer Controlled Electronic Table Games which requires a live dealer to be present at the game.
GLI-24: Electronic Table Game Systems (ETGS) is the combination of a central server, player interface and all interface elements that function collectively for the purpose of electronically simulating table game operations. The standard is used when there is no live dealer and the game plays without significant human interaction. GLI-25: Dealer Controlled Electronic Table Games (ETG) is the operation of a table game(s) that require a live dealer that utilizes electronics as part of the game’s operation, such as: game generation, electronically collecting, storing, and communicating accounting and significant event data. The standard is used only when the ETG requires a live dealer.
GLI’s Director of Technical Compliance Chris Gallo said, “GLI-24 and GLI-25 gives regulators a baseline on which to begin developing their own technical standards and procedures. GLI fully expects that most regulators, if not all will adopt their own technical standards in a process that is defined in their jurisdiction.”
Meanwhile, GLI’s European office has renewed its exclusive testing agreement with the Norwegian Gaming Board.
GLI Europe, BV has been the sole testing lab for the Board since its inception in 2001, and GLI remains the only test laboratory authorized to test gaming machines in the country.
Director General of the Norwegian Gaming Board Atle Hamar said, “The Norwegian Gaming and Foundation Authority is very content with the cooperation built up with GLI since the authority was established in 2001. We look forward to another successful year with GLI.”
GLI Europe Director-Government Relations Kit Hall-Johnston said, “We are honored that GLI is the only test laboratory that has been allowed to test gaming machines for Norway. We look forward to continuing to provide the best support for the Gaming Board and for the manufacturers.”
Will the plans for Russia's 'remote' gaming areas go ahead as the State Duma has described?
