Just a few quick lines about some items on the gaming industry, which are real headliners, apart from Sagse Buenos Aires 2007 reported below.
We are in Bogotá, Colombia right now, witnessing the impressive development of local leader UNIDELCA, which has some outstanding gaming projects for the next few years.
Under the direction of Carlos Quintero, Unidelca president, we were shown the company’s many casinos and gaming rooms along with project drafts for a resort casino in the buoyant City of Medellin, which has an article elsewhere in the magazine.
We have also been in Peru, where there is now a parliamentary commission to reorganize the Gaming Commission instead of disorganizing all the legislation, and its ensuing legal circumvention, that prevented workable laws from 1995 onwards, and to start afresh from almost zero. See piece below.
The Latin American region is bracing itself to receive a great deal of gaming investment and operators from Russia and the Far East owing, in the first instance, to the Duma revolution that seeks to banish Moscow casinos to Siberia, and secondly to Kim Il Sun’s followers in North Korea who have just tested an A bomb instead of encouraging A listed gaming companies to invest in the country. When will they ever learn!
It’s party time at McMullan’s Irish Pub in Tropicana West, next to The Orleans. My buddy Brian runs the best IP outfits this side of the Irish Sea, and the industry will be there everyday during G2E in Las Vegas. If you tell Brian that you come as guests of mine, there’ll surely be a complimentary Guinness.
Slante! Ricki.
Will the plans for Russia's 'remote' gaming areas go ahead as the State Duma has described?
