Hippodrome saves New Year’s Eve

“Everyone around the world is in this together, and everyone around

the world is welcome at the Hippodrome.”

With a 10pm last orders and an 11pm edict to shut the doors of all hospitality businesses in England, New Year’s Eve is in danger of being a damp squib – but the Hippodrome Casino in Leicester Square has come up with the perfect solution.

From 10am, when New Year’s Eve is celebrated in Samoa, and on the hour every hour through to 10pm, the Hippodrome will offer visitors from throughout the world the chance to bring in 2021 as it happens in their home country.

At 11am it’s New Zealand’s turn. Russia at 12 noon. Japan at 3pm, China at 4pm. The Hippodrome will mark every New Year’s midnight through to the UK’s own, two hours early, at 10pm. And as a sure sign of international unity, the country’s biggest casino will also raise a glass for Europe, Canada, the USA and South America at 10pm too.

Simon Thomas, CEO of the Hippdorome Casino, said: “Now, more than ever before, it’s important to come together and mark 2021 positively. It can only get better from hereon.

“Everyone around the world is in this together, and everyone around the world is welcome at the Hippodrome.

“We’ll also devise a menu of drinks so every New Year will be welcomed appropriately with the local alcoholic and non-alcoholic glass.”
