The Plaza Hotel & Casino has donated one of its iconic logo signs to The Neon Museum. The logo sign was transported from the Plaza to Hartlauer Signs on March 16 for restoration and reillumination.
When the Plaza built its South Tower in 1983, Ad-Art and Charles Barnard was contracted to create the signs for the property at 1 Main Street. There was a large logo sign on the top of the building and at multiple locations on the east side of the building on Main Street. The Plaza still has the Barnard designed signs on its building, and the one being donated to The Neon Museum was located on the Main Street façade of the Plaza in between its two towers until 2011 when the property underwent a property-wide renovation.
After the sign is restored by Hartlauer, it will be transported to The Neon Museum for display later this year.
